Vomit Crap

SINGAPORE

Damn if I make this post, and damn if I don’t. But a remark in a blog just made me puke.

Under the pretentious title, A day in the life of a famous blogger, she wrote:

“Startling sudden revelation that the East is indeed nicer than the West in Singapore, because…. THERE ARE NO BANGALAS HERE!

Compare: Jurong Point is full of bangalas (very lecherous)/Malaysian factory boys (very lecherous) /China men (very lecherous). White Sands? None. Only happy chalet goers and little yuppie families.

I can’t even remember the last time I saw a bangala even near Loyang!! In contrast Teban is filled to the brim with them. Eww!”

Are you done vomiting yet?

Either she had one whiff too many of her nail polish or fame has gone to her biased head.

Freedom of expression is a wonderful thing. It allows you to express your heart…or uncover your prejudices.

Her remarks demean certain nationalities and classes of people (“Malaysian factory boys”, “Bangala… Eww!”). China men not spared as well. These people left their loved ones behind, and brave loneliness to put food on the table. The same people contributing to the development of Singapore.

Can’t remember a more discriminatory, racist and sexist statement.

Guess she figures she is a class above these labourers.

And what does the world’s most beloved Mr. Bush think of this?

CRAP!

Oregon Crap

UNITED STATES

Look beyond your shores and bring yourself up to speed on the American presidential race.

You may think the race is important only to the Americans. You could not have been more wrong.

It is unfortunate but undeniable that we are all impacted by both the economic and foreign policies of the US.

With Obama’s recent win in the Oregon primary, I hope we are one step closer to a softer and accommodating US. One who balances the needs of the nation with the needs of the rest of the world. One who engages its perceived enemies at the table and not on the battlefield.
