Eye opening Crap

This is taken from a comment in Malaysia Today

And it reflects the perception of a a ‘foreigner’ (whose root is intractably that of a Malay) of the development (or the lack of it) of the Malays in Malaysia.

THE MALAYSIAN MALAY by Dr Syed Alwi of Singapore

Dear Editor,

As you know, I am an avid watcher of Malaysian affairs. I must confess that lately, Malaysia appears to be failing. Not a day passes by without more events that clearly highlight Malaysia ’s race-religion fault-line. If things keep going this way, I fear for Malaysia ’s future.

Today, schools in Singapore celebrate Racial Harmony Day. I can visibly see the joy in the children’s faces as they wear their ethnic costumes and have fun together at school. But in Malaysia – even the right to choose a religion has become a sensitive, national issue. No doubt, there are many in Malaysia who hate my liberal views on Islam, family included. But I will say what I must say openly. I have come to the conclusion that Malaysia cannot progress any further without first addressing fundamental questions regarding its identity and soul.

I remember the days when we can laugh at Lat’s cartoons on everyday Mlaysian life. But sadly, the Islamic tide has polarised Malaysians.

Some people ask why I should bother about Malaysian affairs since I am a Singaporean. May I remind Malaysians that it was Tan Siew Sin who once said that Singapore and Malaysia are Siamese Twins. Should Malaysia go down – it would hurt the region tremendously. Especially Singapore.

Where do you think Malay apostates would head for if Lina Joy loses her case? Singapore of course! I find the Malaysian Malay to be very under-exposed. For them, it’s all Islam and the NEP and everything under the sun would sort itself out. I am sorry to say this – but Islam and the NEP may be the cause of the doing of the Malaysian Malay.

There is nothing wrong with religion or affirmative action. But, like everything else in life, they must be taken in moderation and with a pinch of salt. A little doubt is good. Unfortunately in Malaysia ,emotions over Islam have overcome reason. What we see today is the result of the NEP and Islamisation policies of the past thirty years or so.

No one owes Malaysian Malays a living. Let me assure you that should Malaysia fail – the Malaysian Malay will suffer enormously. And rightly so. After all they have been pampered with all sorts of goodies over the years.

They cannot now expect more goodies. Perhaps the day of reckoning for them, is near. Whatever it is, Malaysia had better wake up to the realities around her. The globalised world of the 21st century has no NEP to offer the Malaysian Malay. And humans cannot live by religion alone.

Regards,

Dr Syed Alwi

ISA, ISA, ISA CRAP

Everyone condemns the latest ISA swoop. Everyone that is except for UMNOtites.

Oh, wait a minute…there was one who did make a comment: KJ

Unfortunately he put his foot in his mouth while he was at it

“Barisan Nasional ministers need to conform to the principle of collective responsibility and support decisions made by the cabinet”, said Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin

Errr Mr KJ – that was a collective decision?

Wonder why MCA and Gerakan are lashing out now…

And…”decision made by the cabinet“?

Well, if UMNO is the cabinet, then KJ can’t be wrong…can he?

Way to go, Mr. Oxford.

I.S.A. Crap

RPK has been taken under ISA this morning

With all the charges laid against him, you would have thought that UMNO (yes, UMNO, and not the ‘government’) would pursue RPK under the rule of law.

But like all cowards, they chose to use the ISA instead.

PS: friends in neigbouring countries are laughing their asses off at the flips and flops of what is Malaysia. I would have laughed too, if not for the seriousness of the situation. Especially in view of the coming 916 (even if it is a few days late)

And as for the ex-PM and his recent statements, read my lips: you were not missed, and you will not be missed. So go fly kite.

Crap.

Ahmad, Oh Ahmad Crap

OK… Ahmad Ismail (Bukit Bendera Umno chief) has been suspended from his party position for three years.

Problem is, if he was from the opposition party, he would have been incarcerated under the ISA…

Meanwhile Associated Press quoted him as saying:

“Consider this a warning from the Malays,” Ahmad said. “The patience of the Malays has a limit. Do not push us against the wall, for we will be forced to turn back and push the Chinese for our own survival”

Sounds familiar? For a moment I thought the U-M-N-O general assembly had come early.

He also said this:

“I urge the Chinese not to become like the Jewish in America, where it is not enough that they control the economy, but they also want to dominate politics,” Ahmad told a news conference late Monday in northern Penang state”

Now I am not sure about you, but I understand that many (not all, and definitely not the majority of them) chinese are wealthy. Mostly from hard work. They definitely do not “control” the economy.

Oh, by the way, I feel so sorry for our Ahmad. The chinese “controls” so much of the economy that our Ahmad can only afford to stay in a luxurious condominium while his new bungalow is being built (‘built’ not renovated, mind you).

Sigh… And I have no hope that the simple kampung folks will see through this hypocrite.

Crap!
