RPK strikes again!

Maybe it is because that he is outside the arms of PDRM – and am now free from pressure and harassments. It is doing RPK wonders as he seems to be churning out refreshing article after article.

In “Just shooting the breeze” in Malaysia Today, RPK summarises the sole problem with the rakyat:

“Malaysians are being shackled. They are not being allowed to think. They are being imprisoned in their minds. We need to free Malaysians from the mental bondage that they are currently being subjected to. And this is what I mean by a ‘Free Malaysians Campaign’. Malaysia Today’s mission and vision is to teach Malaysians how to think and show Malaysians how to rid themselves of the shackles that are imprisoning their minds. Only when Malaysians dare think, question and challenge will they be truly free of this mental bondage.”

It always starts with the mind. And it’s a journey.

I got free when I went overseas.

I realised life could be more for me and my family.

I realised that the government wasn’t telling me things – lots of things. I had been living behind a ‘bamboo’ curtain not unlike the one in old communist China.

I realised I had been robbed of opportunities, not because another is more deserving but simply because I was of ‘different’ colour. And I realised that it was not another race that was doing it – it was simply a racist group or groups of people who intend, at whatever the cost, to keep people like me down.

Have you started your journey yet?

Nostalgia

My heart silently weeps as I read this article (“1Malaysia Dalam Kenangan”) by Art Harun.

Images of my past friends, Malay, Chinese, Indians and the ‘Lain-Lain” flashes through my mind. The lost joy of fellowship, oblivious to religious and colour difference, floods my heart as I recall each of my lost friends.

And I weep as I realise that this quality of innocence is as rare as the honest politician.

As the extremists expand their territory, the silent minorities draw themselves closer into their shelves, huddle together against this onslaught, distrusting evermore of those who are ‘different’.

Thank you Barisan National.
Thank you UMNO.
For showing us how different we are.

voter power

If you’ve noticed, the opposition (PKR, PAS, DAP) seems to be having some internal problems lately.

And if you read some of the comments on blogs, you will find that some voters are already regretting voting for them.

While I am disgusted by these squabbles, I think each of you should learn to take a matured, long term view of what you want for Malaysia.

What is your plan for the Malaysian political front?
A perfect coalition that runs Malaysia flawlessly? Then you will have to wait, probably forever.

Your view should be simply this: Malaysia should have a credible and strong opposition (whether it be PR or BN). This way, both sides will have to always on their toes for fear of the voter-power.

It shouldn’t matter if LGE or Anwar (or even Hadi) has high ambition for the PM post. He will have to please the rakyat if he wants to keep the post. And who benefits? The rakyat.

You don’t vote the opposition just to spite BN.
You don’t vote DAP just because you want a chinese leader.
You don’t vote Anwar just to make sure the PM is but a Malay.

You vote for the party because that party can protect the peace and prosperity of Malaysia for your children and grandchildren’s sakes. And not because that the politicians can deliver election goodies!

Learn this: don’t be caught up with being a BN or PR supporter. Keep your options open. A goody-two-shoe opposition may turn out to be worse than BN in the long run – power corrupts (and in BN case, absolute power corrupts absolutely)

For now, I advise you to vote for PR to help them get established. After all, their squabbles are but a small ripple compared to the atrocities and corruption that is BN. Once Malaysia has a strong and credible 2-party democracy, you make sure they (be it BN or PR) work FOR YOU!

Remember, the aim of the vote should be to establish a system that ensures that these politicians serve the rakyat.

lah-lah-lah-lagi crap

He should just shuddup and maintain his elegant silence after his retirement.

Sleepy Lah says: Government should consider abolishing ISA

He had more than 4 years to do it but he did not. My advice to him: go fly kite.

Further he had the gall to say:

The government should consider abolishing the Internal Security Act (ISA) which carries a negative perception, and replacing it with a new law which allows for preventive detention while protecting the fundamental rights of the people.

Former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the ISA had given too much power and perhaps too wide a scope to the authorities to determine the threats to security.

What fundamental rights of the people?

And what did you do about such power when you ‘ravamped’ the ACA to MACC?
Did you know what you ‘baby’ MACC has been doing for the last 100 days?

Ballistic Crap!

Yesterday, I was depressed after reading certain news.
You can read my rant here.

Today, I went ballistic, just reading about the blatant abuse of power and police brutality.

In my earlier post, I talked about the arrogant, imbecilic MALAYSIAN ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION.

Today I found out that their so-called investigation has caused a death of an innocent man – Teo Beng Hock (member of the opposition party)

Raja Petra has a spin on it here.

But knowing the way things work in Malaysia, RPK’s spin may not be far from the truth.

I am mad. The MACC role to date has been to harrass the opposition. Period.

In the same post, I also talked about the nine christians who were arrested for allegedly trying to convert Muslims.

I read in Malaysia Today (Religious row flares in Malaysia) where it states that:

Police in Malaysia have said they will release nine Christians mistakenly accused of trying to convert Muslim university students to Christianity.

F^%k the police. In another country, you would be sued for wrongful arrest!

No investigation was carried before the arrest. Shoot first, talk later.

Time to change the law to make the police liable for their action. And I am talking about serious liability. And why not? The police exist to protect the rakyat. Not the rakyat exist to serve the purpose of the police.

And what has BN got to say about all these? What has UMNO has to say about these?

Not a word. Elegant silence. The state institutions have gone to seed – worse than when Sleepy Lah was onboard. Today it is “like PM, like police”.
